Sail Away
Most sailing games treat the sail like a throttle. This one doesn't. You hold the helm with one stick and trim the sail with the other and between wind direction, sea currents, and the angle of your boat, you're constantly negotiating with the sea to find speed.
It's the same feeling I remember from learning to sail years ago, that pleasure in the moment when everything aligns, the sail fills, and the boat surges forward. I wanted to put that feeling in a controller.
This is an early prototype. Right now it's just the movement, a small boat, wind that gusts and shifts, currents that push you off course, and the two-stick control system. No ports, no cargo, no story yet. Just the sailing.
Gamepad recommended. Keyboard fallback: A/D to steer, Q/E to trim the sail.
If you try it, does the dual-stick control feel intuitive? Does it click? Especially curious to hear from anyone with real sailing experience.
